A direct result of this research program has been the development of a unique device called the Neurovasc. The device restructures the superficial components of the body. It eradicates pain by lifting and separating the layers of injured tissue, releasing entrapped nerves which cause pain. The treatment methodology also influences patients’ brain chemistry and allows them to regain control over their lives when acute and chronic pain is relieved. With lower pain levels, patients’ report reduced stress, depression, and anxiety levels; this also facilitates reducing patients' dependency on caffeine, alcohol and/or medication. This breakthrough pain treatment has significantly contributed to the field of pain research. It will influence the way pain and stress are treated for many years to come.
Pain and Stress compounded with substance abuse will eventually kill you. We see it every day in our practice. We are all witnessing unusual behavior involving many of our favorite media personalities which has focused public attention on these issues. This sequence of events is being played out in our country on a daily basis. We need to recognize that behaviors like this are a reflection and manifestation of a chemical imbalance in the brain.
Our lifestyles have become far too productive, with multi-tasking and trying to occupy as much of our awake time as possible with some sort of stimulation. We are constantly bombarded by negative news from all types of media. We watch violent TV programs. We are over-stimulated by our computers and overwhelmed by exposure to an ever growing network of information. Many of us have started to loose our ability to think clearly due to pain and stress…we have lost our edge. If we don’t find ways to adapt, the result is often a downward spiral from the accumulated effects of pain and stress. This often leads to increased dependency on caffeine, over-the-counter medications, drugs and alcohol.
The Brooks Center is focused on the treatment of adults with pain and stress. We have recently expanded our practice to become active in the field of youth sports injuries. Parents often don’t consider that children and teenagers can develop pain from everyday life and playing sports. With the growth of competitive sports activities there has been an increase in sports related repetitive-motion injuries. This in turn intensifies pain levels from other injuries, which directly impacts attitudes, moods, and the levels of performance. Recently, we treated some of the countries top young tennis players and have had great success with rehabilitating their injuries. The treatment process allows us to control pain very rapidly and enables these young athletes to get back into competition with minimal time out of their sport. Many parents have told us how this has changed their children’s overall attitude and elevated their competitive edge.
